Moondrop to Gascony

This fascinating autobiographical account of a young female special ops agent during World War II tells the tale of 20-year-old Anne-Marie Walters, the daughter of a British father and a French mother. Parachuted into occupied France in 1944 to work with the Resistance in preparation for the Allied invasion, Anne-Marie undertook dangerous and complex missions in the name of freedom. Her tasks took her across the southwest of France, carrying messages and delivering explosives, living in constant fear of torture and capture by the Gestapo. This title was written in the aftermath of the war, with recent events still fresh in the author’s mind. Given Walters’ young age when she set pen to paper, this is a remarkable and inspiring work from an equally inspirational author.
