Toasting a bestseller

“At the start of this year, Insider announced the launch of Edmund and Helen Tirbutt’s book: ‘Beat the Booze’. Edmund, a former financial journalist and insurance consultant, was offering IFAs a 33 per cent discount on their “comprehensive guide to combating drink problems in all walks of life”.

However, it seems the guide is gaining popularity with another body of professionals. That is if one could call politicians, professionals. ‘Beat the Booze’ is listed No.3 on the bestseller list of www.politics.co.uk, the website of one of the UK’s leading political virtual bookstores, sharing the top ranks with the many titles on Labour’s ‘squandered billions’. So, as Mr Tirbutt’s asks: “Does this tell us more about politicians than it does about the quality of the book?””
