How to write a winning CV
How to write a winning CV
by Denise Taylor, career guidance practitioner
Make it clear how you can help the company. Your profile should focus on how you match the job.
Be clear on why you are right for the particular job – and choose appropriate examples.
Use achievement bullet points and action statements, not vague terms.
Be succinct: make every work count and don’t include unnecessary details.
Make use of white space and choose just a couple of fonts.
Include details of any unusual hobbies – get them interested.
Don’t rely on spellchecker, get other people to read your CV.
Be truthful – if you “improve” your grades or job titles and are found out you will be dismissed.
