How to start a business for under £5,000
Students, graduates and staff of the University recently learned how to start a business for less than £5,000 in a ?Start-Up Smart presentation organised by the B-Enterprising Project at the Careers & Employability Service. The event was well attended by over sixty people from a variety of academic subject backgrounds and University departments.
The presentation was given by Robin Bennett, Managing Director of The Bennett Group and author of ?Start-Up Smart; How to start and build a business for £5000.? Robin used his past experience of setting up several businesses to highlight the benefits of setting up a business on a small budget and with very little lending. He gave a comprehensive account of his successes and failures with different businesses as well as sharing his top tips for successful business start-up, in a relaxed and down to earth manner.
Five copies of Robin?s book were given to members of the audience in a randomly selected draw. The Muse Bookshop from Holyhead Road, Bangor, was also on hand to sell additional copies of the publication to members of the audience, and Robin held a short book signing after the presentation.
Lowri Owen, Enterprise Champion at Bangor University, said:
?It?s great to have an entrepreneur such as Robin Bennett presenting at Bangor University. His wealth of experience in business start-up was reflected in his practical advice to students, graduates and staff on starting a business with minimal lending; a message that is ever more relevant in today?s economic climate.?
